RP takes place in a fictional city on (you guessed it) the (northern) west coast of the United States. The city is large, especially in comparison to any surrounding city. It has several suburbs. Although the city does have a number of trendy locales, it's mostly known for it's numerous manufacturing industries. There is both a four year university (that conducts a lot of high profile projects) and a relatively average junior college. The city has recently been revived after a long period of economic slowdown. During this period the city gained sort of a reputation for being gritty. Nowadays though unemployment is shrinking, the economy is growing, and things are on the upturn in general. The idea is that everyone is college age and goes to the university, but if you don't want to do that that's fine. Shitty college AU!

The climate is temperate and wet. There are a lot of cloudy days.
